Built to conduct meetings of the executive political committee of the Communist Party during Nicolae Ceaușescu’s reign, it features a 60-seater round table, long pastel-colored curtains, stylish interiors, and the second-largest chandelier in the parliament palace. It’s a grand and impressive room, offering a glimpse into Romania’s political history.

Enter the expansive Union Hall, the largest within the Palace of Parliament. Stretching over 2200 square meters, its vastness is matched only by its intriguing history. Notice the towering arches meant to display portraits of Ceaușescu and his wife, a plan that never came to fruition. Legend has it that Ceaușescu even envisioned a retractable roof for helicopter landings—an extravagant touch to an already monumental space.

Boasting the highest ceiling in the Parliament House of Bucharest, the Alexandru Ioan Cuza Hall offers stunning views of Unirii Boulevard from its balcony. What adds a quirky twist to its history is the fact that Ceaușescu wasn't the first to address the crowd from here; that honor belongs to global icon Michael Jackson. To this day, Jackson remains the only person to address a crowd from the balcony.
